Sustainable Process Automation with the Process-Driven Approach
In this presentation, we explore the concept of sustainable process automation and its significance in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. We begin by examining the problem at hand, defining sustainable process automation and highlighting its importance.
Next, we delve into the limitations of current approaches such as process programming, event-driven microservices, no-code/low-code solutions, and robotic process automation. While these methods have their merits, they fall short in addressing the sustainability aspect of process automation.
To overcome these limitations, we introduce the process-driven approach, a novel methodology that effectively tackles the sustainability problem. We explain how this approach focuses on designing processes as a central element, enabling greater adaptability and maintainability throughout the automation lifecycle.
To provide a comprehensive understanding of the process-driven approach, we present a live demonstration of its architecture. This demo showcases how the process-driven approach streamlines workflows, enhances collaboration between human and automated components, and supports ongoing optimization and improvement.

The Pursuit of Software Quality through Test Automation on Process-Aware Information Systems
Process Automation initiatives oftenly need features that aren't in the core set of capabilities offered out-of-the-box by standard Process-Aware Information Systems (PAIS) vendors.
The AgileKip Process Automation Platform is an open source project devoted to facilitate Process Automation initiatives based on code generation techniques, so developers can focus their efforts on the necessary customizations.
Nevertheless, these customizations may introduce uncertainties that can affect the system's reliability and consistency. To ensure software quality, extensive testing becomes imperative.
In this talk, we present a strategy to automate the generation and execution of user-acceptance tests of an AgileKip/Camunda-based PAIS using Robot Framework, an open source RPA.
